We, Fr. Ralph and Fr. Chuck, have now been on board as
pastor and associate pastor at St. Paul’s for almost 15 months.
The responsibilities have been challenging and at times overwhelming.
However, the joy of doing ministry in
community has been so enriching and fulfilling. The parishioners and staff
of St. Paul Parish have over and over again demonstrated their Christian character and willingness to serve fellow parishioners and many others beyond our parish family, for example the people of Peru and the people of St. Michael Parish in the inner city. We priests are so grateful and conscious of the fact that the volume of volunteers, our dedicated Pastoral Staff members and our extended staff members who faithfully teach in our school and those who caringly maintain our buildings and campus are supporting and building the
Mission of Christ hand-in-hand as a
Body of Christ. We
need to recognize that we are able to do what we do because of the “call” and the “power” of Christ in our midst. Both of us priests are awed by the number of ministries that make such a difference in the lives of others.
Please celebrate the
community that we are and that you are a part of. It is something to be proud of and something worth being part of. Through prayer and service we fulfill God’s will, both individually and as community.
Read through this ‘special edition’ of our bulletin that we are sending to each parish household. Pay attention to the many, many ministries that are happening at and through the people at St. Paul’s. We have attempted to list not only the ministries, but the contact person for each of them. If you are not already involved, maybe there is an area of ministry that you have an interest in and might like to serve in. Now would be a great time to call a contact person to learn more about a particular ministry and how you can share your gifts. Thanks to everyone who makes up this great
community!
