A friend of mine was at another friend's grandfather's birthday and learned that one of the grandfather's daily prayers was "Lead me, Lord, where you need me the most." My friend began to incorporate that into his prayer because he loved the sentiment.
He sent me a text while I was on vacation and I want to share his thoughts surrounding a revelation that he had concerning this prayer.
"In morning prayer I would pray it, hoping to be led by God each day where He needed me most. I recently thought of it in another way, and it opened my eyes to God's presence in my every move. I AM being led where He needs me the most, He is leading me. Present tense rather than only thinking moving forward (or in the immediate or distant future). (There is) a lot of comfort knowing He is here with me, and also almost feeling a sense of urgency and a need to do good by Him NOW.
