Jesus has an interesting title during the Christmas morning Mass… Jesus is called the Word of God. That is kind of a weird title… What does it mean for Jesus to be the Word of God? Jesus is God. Sometimes we call Him God the Son. When we call Jesus the Word of God, it’s like saying that Jesus makes what God wants happen. Just like your mom and dad’s words tell us about their plans and their love, well when God tells of His plan and His love, Jesus carries it out. That is why Jesus became man. God wanted to save the whole human race, so He sent His Son to come and live with us, and after a while, Jesus then died to save us from our sins. He did it because it was God’s plan to save us. Jesus did it because He loved God the Father and us so much that He had to do it.
