This Sunday is the Feast of the Epiphany. The Epiphany is what we call the time when the Three Magi or Wise Men or Kings (whichever you would like to call them) came to visit Baby Jesus. These men came from far, far away in the land of Persia. They traveled hundreds of miles through the desert to get to Jesus. They came following the bright star. Imagine what it must have been like to be one those men… searching the stars for a sign that the Messiah would come. Day in and day out, looking; and then, finally, all of the signs that Jesus, the Messiah is coming light up the night sky. Talk about amazing. These men searched and looked for the Messiah from a far when most people who lived near Jesus didn’t even notice Him. When they finally go to Baby Jesus, the Three Wise Men gave Him wonderful gifts that were fit for a King. We, too, need to search for Jesus and give Him the things in our lives that are most beautiful and fit for a King as well. We do this by praying, going to Church, listening to those who love us, caring for those in need, and by loving those around us.
