St. Paul Parish, in accordance with Parish Corporate By-Laws, hereby inform you that nominations are open for the position of Trustee-Secretary. A parish trustee is an active, responsible lay parishioner who is called to serve the parish as a member of the corporate Board of Directors. Trustees act in a leadership role as a member of the Pastoral Council and the Finance Council. A more complete description of the Trustee-Secretary’s responsibilities can be viewed at the Parish Office during normal office hours. Each term is for 2 years with no limit on the number of terms that may be served. Parishioners should be aware of and understand that the following guidelines are to be adhered to in this process. Nominees/Candidates must be Catholic, registered, practicing parish members and at least 25 years old. The Pastor may nominate one candidate for each open position. Additional candidates must be nominated, in writing, by 10 or more registered parish members. (Form available in Parish Office). Candidates will be vetted prior to the announcement of nominees. If there is only one nominee for the position at the close of nominations, May 24, 2021, no election/balloting need be done. Nominees will be announced at the weekend Masses on May 29 & 30, 2021 Elections, if needed, are held after the weekend masses two weeks after the announcement of candidates, therefore on June 12 & 13, 2021, this election cycle. If there are multiple candidates, the nominee receiving the most parishioner votes will become the Trustee-Secretary, subject to the approval of the Archbishop. Completed nomination forms, along with a picture and short biography must be submitted to Fr. Dan, Pastor@stpaulgenesee.net no later than May 24, 2021.
