I am excited to be starting my second year at St. Paul School as the 5K/1st grade teacher. I became a teacher in a roundabout way. I received my initial degree from the UW-Milwaukee in business administration, double majoring in finance and marketing. My first career was as a banker. After the birth of my first child, I was blessed with the opportunity to be an at-home mom. It was after the birth of my second child that I decided to go back to Carroll University to get my education certification. While doing so, I worked as an at-risk aide at Washington-Caldwell School in Waterford where I provided individual and small group instruction to middle school students at risk of failing.
My philosophy on education is that I truly believe that anyone can learn - it’s the teacher’s job to find the right method to make a child’s talents shine. As an educator, I think it is important to foster a child’s curiosity, teach them to be critical thinkers, give them the passion for learning, and provide them with the knowledge and tools they will need in life.
