This ministry began over 30 years ago when a guest at a baby shower wondered what happened for women who didn't have much to begin with and perhaps had no one to host a baby shower for them. The Heavenly Babies Ministry was born and continues to celebrate young mothers who have CHOSEN LIFE for their babies!
If you see a clearance sale or are at a good rummage sale or you have points or store cash to use, keep your eyes peeled for our specific needs:

Blankets, bibs, burp cloths/ receiving blankets
We can ONLY ACCEPT sizes 0 to 6 months.
No new born, preemie or larger sizes needed at this time.
Jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, and socks also accepted.
Each month, 30+ "baby shower in a bag" layettes are provided to 10 different agencies in Milwaukee and Waukesha who provide assistance to women and children in need. The bags contain sleepers, blankets, towels/wash cloths, bibs, socks, jackets, toys, books, and a personal note of support for the new mother. Many of these new mothers have nothing for their newborns. We support their decision to choose life for their heavenly babies with this ministry.
Parish volunteers search rummage sales, thrift shops, and clearance racks. Donations are always accepted for receiving blankets and onesies (size 0-6 months). Clothing is sorted and matched, washed, folded, and then packed in the Heavenly Baby shopping bag. Parish volunteers deliver the bags to various agencies. If you would like to be part of this ministry, contact Jennifer Aldrich (jalrich38@hotmail.com). If you aren't a shopper, you can still participate by praying for the work of our volunteers and offer prayers for the mothers and babies who receive the hope and joy represented in the "baby shower in a bag".
A couple of years ago, parents in our Family Program got a "tour" of the Heavenly Babies area and learned more about the ministry from some of the volunteers. It was inspiring!

Each year parishioners are given the opportunity to add their signatures to a January advertisement in the Waukesha Freeman newspaper sponsored by Wisconsin Right to Life. Sign your name at one of the tables in the Gathering Space before or after mass. Contact Mary Kay Lammers 262-392-9586 for more information.
Baby Bottles for Life: Life's Connection (Mukwonago, Waukesha) provides counseling, support, and education for women who choose life for their babies. Envelopes pre-addressed to Life's Connection are distributed in the parish in January and returned with donations to support the work of this very special pro-life resource. http://www.lifesconnection.org/
The Elizabeth Ministry offers hope and healing to women and their families on issues related to childbearing, sexuality, and relationships. The Blessing Bouquet in the Gathering Space is an opportunity to ask for prayers for yourself or someone else who may be struggling. We support the work of Life's Connection in Waukesha, a pregnancy resource center, through our Baby Bottles fundraiser and also our Heavenly Babies Layettes.
Life's Connection has many services and programs for families. One of the newest programs they have supports families who have suffered a miscarriage, still birth, or loss of a child. Learn more: https://lifesconnection.org/
